Acupuncture
Acupuncture treatment is a painless technique which employs the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to manipulate the flow of energy, thereby restoring balance, removing blockages, and adding energy where necessary.
Acupuncture points, which lie on energy channels, are directly related to specific organs and physiological functions, this principle has been repeatedly confirmed by recent research in which obvious physiological changes were observed through the manipulation of specific acupuncture points.
Chinese people have been using Acupuncture for more than four thousand years, a long history of clinical studies have shown their efficacy for chronic and acute medical symptoms. A series of sessions, usually combined with Acupressure, has a cumulative effect in restoring the body to health.
As more Americans are discovering, Western medicine alone does not always work. So, they are turning to Acupuncture as a natural way to heal without the side effects of many drugs and chemicals prescribed by Western medical practitioners. It has been found to be an extremely useful method for people who have not responded to more conventional forms of treatment.
Acupuncture with Electrical Stimulation uses micro current electricity to stimulate acupuncture points. A mild tingling sensation of electricity and moderate pulsation will be felt. Acupuncture with electrical stimulation is often be used for pain management, weight control, and fibroid and cyst control.
Acupressure
Acupressure is the technique of applying finger pressure and different tactile manipulations on certain points and muscles along the channels of the body. This stimulation can relax the muscle tension, improve the free flow of the Qi and blood of the body, and regulate the corresponding viscera and all the tissue organs, such as the brain, marrow, and uterus.
This treatment method is always used together with acupuncture treatment to holistically balance the body’s nervous and muscular systems, strengthen the immune system, and release stress or pain. For children and those not desiring therapy employing needles, acupressure alone is an effective treatment.

Cupping
Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of releasing local congestion by attaching small jars, which create a vacuum through heat or suction. The cupping method can warm and promote the free flow of Qi and blood in the meridians, dispelling cold dampness and diminishing swelling and pain. Cupping therapy is applied on different areas of the body to treat varying conditions. It may leave some marks, but these will disappear within few days.
Cupping affects the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins. This process activates the lymphatic system, clears colon blockages, helps activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activates the skin, clears stretch marks and improves varicose veins. Cupping is very useful and very safe.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is another ancient therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moxa, made from the dried leaves of the common mugwort (artemesia vulgaris) plant, is either placed as small balls on the end of acupuncture needles or it can be made into small cones and placed on herbal cake or ginger over certain parts of skin or acupuncture points. It provides gentle heat and increases the toning effectiveness of the acupuncture treatment.
For centuries, moxibustion and acupuncture have been combined in clinical practice. It is a highly effective way to build up a patient’s energy reserves, strengthen the immune and circulatory systems, and improve sexual functions. Moxibustion is particularly effective in the treatment of fatigue, infertility, arthritis, asthma, and cancer patients.
Moxibustion has been used as routine preventive care to expel coldness in the body, promote the body’s energy, increase immune function and improve blood circulation. While it is performed all year round to treat different diseases, moxibustion is most particularly done in the summer for preventive care three times during June in accordance with First Summer, Middle Summer, and End Summer of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.
Patients should not receive moxibustion if they have fever, flu, infectious conditions, mouth sores, hepatitis, or high blood pressure. Furthermore, pregnant women should avoid moxa on the abdominal and lumbar sacral areas. Anyone with numbness and lack of sensation in the extremities should not do moxa.
